Project Update

April 27, 2007 - Project is 50% complete. All the underground utility work is essentially complete and the utility companies are pulling wires through the new conduits. The storm drainage system and gas mains are complete. Water main improvements are 80% complete. Work continues with walls and grading on 164th Ave S.E. and the installation of curbs, sidewalks, and placement of asphalt.
January 17, 2007 - The contractor has completed approximately 30 percent of the total work for the project including the installation of 9,000 lineal feet of storm drain pipes, 8,500 lineal feet of utility trench, 82,500 lineal feet of utility conduit, 9,300 cubic yards of earthwork, and 2,800 lineal feet of curb and gutter. Installation of the new 16-inch diameter water main is progressing and some of the first courses of asphalt paving have also been placed. Grading, underground utility, curbs, and sidwalk work will continue for the next several months.
November 22, 2006 - Contractor has installed over 37,000 lineal feet of underground utility conduit, which represents approximately 40 percent of the total underground utility installation. The storm drainage system is complete, including installation of the underground detention tanks and filter vaults. Installation of concrete curb and gutter has started at the west end of SE 256th Street and will continue. Installation of the new water main will begin in December, as well as grading in the roundabout area. Utility work, grading, and curb installation will continue for several more months.

September 12, 2006 - Contractor has installed over 1,300 lineal feet of storm pipe and is continuing with this work. Installation of 30-inch and 36-inch diameter storm drainpipe along 164th Ave SE will continue through September. Over 26,000 lineal feet of underground utility conduits have been installed on SE 256th Street. This represents about 25% of the total underground utility work on the project. Several of the retaining walls have been completed. Clearing, grading, retaining wall and utility installation will continue for several more months.

August 16, 2006 - Clearing and grading is proceeding along the edges of the streets and in the area of the roundabout, including construction of retaining walls. Also, installation of a new gas main on 164th Avenue SE and the joint utilities trench on SE 256th Street is underway. The installation of utilities, including water and storm drainage pipes will continue for several months. The Three French Hens building has been demolished and removed.
